Welcome from our Pastor

I want to welcome you to Sunrise United Methodist Church.  I am delighted to have so many warm and caring people within our community of faith.  We feel blessed to be within the family of Christ where each person has the opportunity to grow in heir faith, hope and love.  Our vision is "To know and be known by God, others and our community." Our God centered prayers are a normal part of our daily lives.  Prayer calls us into communion, not only with God, but with all that God loves.  And prayer makes it possible for us to be in the Lord's service.
 
We are a growing church, called together by God to be one, in ministry and mission.  Our ministry includes all the components of a healthy congregation:  prayer, worship, giving, discipleship, community life and servant outreach (missions).  We are involved in the community that surrounds us locally as well as worldwide to share the love of Christ so that all people may have hope.  
 
Our ministry involves helping people to have a personal relationship with Jesus the Christ.  We do this by pressing forward on the journey of faith to transform the world, by answering the basic question:  "What would Jesus expect me to do?"  Basically, we strive to love and serve others as Jesus did.  We are willing to step out boldly and passionately to serve those who are in need.
 
We do all that we can, give all we can and serve all that we can until
everyone has the opportunity to come to the Lord's Table.  The work of being the Body of Christ is such that we cannot do it alone. We need each other, our gifts, our passions, and our energies, working together-side by side, encouraging each other in Christian fellowship.  I encourage you to join us as we practice our Christian faith, for we are the hands, the feet and the love of Christ in the world.
