Welcome from our Pastor

Our God is an awesome God and we desire to get to know you and to invite you to visit our church.  We are excited to offer you the invitation to attend a worship service, any class or Bible study, any and all of our fellowship activities or mission projects.  We welcome you to stop by or call us.  God cares about you and so do we.  We are an open congregation to everyone of every age and hope you will come and share with us.  People attend our church from many different walks of life and financial means.  So this is a place where you will fit it and come to call home over time.

We offer you a warm welcome.  We are a United Methodist Church of the Wesleyan tradition which offers communion to every one as we believe the communion table is Christ’s table and Christ is the one who says to each of us, “Come, just as you are.”  We believe that the Bible is our basis but also that your experience and knowledge and tradition is valuable.  As Methodists, we do not always think and believe exactly like each other.  There is room for everyone in the unity of our faith in Jesus Christ.  

There is a place for you to help out and serve from missions to singing in the choir.  We have fun with church pot-lucks and community dinners such as the chicken barbeque in the fall and chili supper in the winter and Fashion Show and luncheon in May.  We are a church with a focus on mission work in our community so there are many opportunities to help make our world a better place.

Sunrise is easily assessable from #101 or from Union Hills.  It is half way between those two on the west side of 7th Avenue.  We have 60-70 in attendance at worship most of the year with many winter visitors joining us in the fall.  With two worship services of classic with a beautiful choir and contemporary with an outstanding band, there is a wonderful choice for worship.  We have adult classes of Bible study, Sunday school and small group studies.  We have Sunday school for preschool elementary and youth.
