From the Pastor
We have celebrated the close of 2007 and the opening of a new year of 2008. God has much in store for Sunrise United Methodist Church. God?s plans are always greater and more powerful than our own. That is why we turn to God in prayer and in worship and in all our meetings so as to follow God?s plans for us as individuals and as a church.
The closing of Matthew?s Gospel tells us, ?Jesus came and said to them, ?all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.? Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teach them to obey what I have commanded you. Remember I am with you always.? Matthew 28: 19.
Jesus Christ wanted the entire world to follow the first rule, the first commandment, for people to love one another as God loves us. We know we cannot love as perfectly as God loves but we can follow the commandments and pray and work to do our very best in God?s Holy name.
At Sunrise, we hope to share this kind of love with you during worship services, classes, Bible studies and all the other activities and events that we hold. Please come and visit us and bring your God-given talents to share with us. It helps all of us to love more and live better in our daily lives.
